Is Ariana Grande a 'Dangerous Woman'? Find out tonight

Ariana Grande has been one of pop's most squeaky-clean stars—up until what we'll call The Donut Incident, when the singer tongue'd an unsuspecting pastry on video and made some surprising comments about hating Americans. (She apologized.) Still, especially after seeing her hard-working performance at the Moda Center last year, we wouldn't expect the singer to really go over the line, by, say, free solo rock climbing or attempting to hold a bank hostage in a clown mask. She's going to try anyway: Grande's new album is dubbed "Dangerous Woman." Though it hasn't been officially announced, Grande's been counting down for days: it appears the album (or perhaps just its titular single) will arrive Thursday night.
What does Grande find dangerous? The singer teased the message with a snippet in a Victoria's Secret Swim Special commercial: "Who makes me wanna do things that I shouldn't," she sings in her typically powerful diva-voice. And a few promotional images for the title song find her in a black mask with cartoon-sized ears, evoking Catwoman supervillainy.

With its murky, bass-thick sound, "Dangerous Woman" sounds likely to be a soul burner, a moth drawn to the flame of a lover with a bad influence.
"To me, a dangerous woman is someone who's not afraid to take a stand, be herself and to be honest," she told fans in a live chat, according to Billboard. "I want to be empowering my fans. I feel like my personal growth is reflected in the sound. I'm really proud of it."
